Tips for Preventing Impaired Driving

Everyone plays a role in keeping roads safe. Here are steps to prevent impaired driving:


  1. Plan Ahead: Designate a sober driver before drinking or arrange for a rideshare service.
  2. Monitor Alcohol Use: Know your limits and avoid binge drinking.
  3. Hold Friends Accountable: Don’t let friends drive under the influence—take their keys or help arrange a safe ride.
  4. Stay Aware: Recognize the signs of impaired driving (swerving, delayed reactions) and report dangerous drivers to authorities.
  5. Educate Youth: Talk to young drivers about the risks and consequences of DUI/DWI.
